Tara is a lawyer by background, with almost 20 years’ experience guiding clients through Australia’s complex regulatory environment. Tara’s Board experience not only includes CPSN since April 2019 but also a number of Australian arms of multi-national organisations.

Tara is currently the Head of Legal & Policy at the Australian Red Cross. Tara has over 10 years’ experience working within organisations as Head of Legal and Executive team member, with a focus on innovative, intellectual property and brand-based businesses. Tara has held other roles within the organisations she has worked for, including Privacy Officer, Head of Compliance and Company Secretary.

Tara’s career highlights so far include: assisting to negotiate the contract to put Hepatitis C cures on the Pharmaceutical Benefit Scheme, building a Greenfields risk and compliance function, implementing the local merger of two US listed pharmaceutical organisations and working with the World Health Organisation to implement Vietnam’s WTO obligations.  Tara is passionate about helping others solve problems, understanding the perspectives of others and clear communication.

Tara has an LLB and Asian Studies degree from ANU, a Masters of Laws from USYD and a Graduate Diploma in Corporate Governance from the Governance Institute. She is admitted to practice in Victoria, NSW, and the Federal system.

Tara is married and has two daughters who she hopes grow up in a world where everyone can access the same opportunities.
