Participants looking for support workers

Currently seeking an enthusiastic, committed person who can provide support to a young male with a physical/mental disability. Working one on one with this person, you will be providing the practical assistance with social outings, personal care including hygiene, and meal prep assistance. In addition, you may be required to also assist with basic activities of daily living and community access.

Assistance will be provided mostly in the home as instructed and at times in the community which is located in the suburb of Keysborough. Shifts will be after school, with occasional weekends and school holidays.

Pay rate is between $26-$30 per hour.

You must have or be willing to undertake an Australian Police Check, Working with Children’s Check, First Aid Certificate (Including CPR, Epilepsy training) and have a current drivers licence.

Callee is 24 years of age and has complex communication needs. She uses a communication device (ipad – proloquo2o) and some Key Word Sign to augment her language. All training will be provided to the right applicant.

You will be working 1-1 in the Caroline Springs area, providing assistance and support with some personal hygiene care, basic cooking and some basic literacy activities. A familiarity with modern technology e.g.: ipads, p.c’s and smartphones is required. If you are studying in areas of Speech, OT, Physio or an Educational teaching this would be a huge advantage for you!

You must have or be willing to undertake an Australian Police Check, Working with Vulnerable Screening, First Aid Certificate (Including CPR, Epilepsy and Anaphylaxis training) and have a current driver’s license.

Immediate start required with 4-6 hours during the day Monday to Friday.

We are a family of three, based in Coburg & looking for a fun after school Support Worker (ongoing) with an immediate start for our cheeky 7 year old son. He is non verbal but active & communicates in his own way.
Time: 4 – 7 pm during school (3 hours for 5 days a week). Some flexibility around finishing times is required. During school holidays, longer hours during the day (possibly 9 – 5 pm) will be required.
Duties – play, read, go for walks, learning to kick a ball, give snacks & dinner. Most importantly have fun:).

No school pick up is required as he comes home via the School bus.

Rate – We are NDIS registered and will pay accordingly.

A first aid certificate, valid working with children check and a police clearance are a must. Also we would like some contactable references from previous or current support worker roles.

Ideally you will have 3-4 years experience in home care & some exposure to working with kids on the spectrum.
