Meet Caitlyn
Tell us about yourself?
My name is Caitlyn. I am a friendly, outgoing and very sociable young adult who has a positive attitude. I work part-time as a barista at McDonald’s, which I love.
What are your interests?
My interests include watching television. I love to watch a lot of tv shows but my favourite show would be Home and Away! I love to play wheelchair basketball, riding my handcycle, attending Saturday morning wheelchair sports group, going to movies and watching the AFL – Go the Pies! I also love to listen to music and catch up with family and friends. I am an avid concert goer and have been to and seen a number of concerts throughout the years with family or friends!
What is your greatest achievement, or the thing you are most proud of about yourself?
I have done many things and achieved a lot over the years! One of my greatest achievements was in 2016 when I participated in an overseas cycling trip called CyclePower along with other people with and without disability. I rode a handcycle with the group around Cambodia and Vietnam. We all raised money for the women that play wheelchair basketball in Cambodia. Some of us held fundraising events. I had to learn how to ride a hand cycle as I didn’t have any experience prior to the trip.
What is the most important thing people should know about you?
My have-a-go attitude! You never know what comes out of it if you don’t have a go!
