CPSN & Fitskills Partnership

FitSkills matches a young person with a disability who wants to improve their health and wellbeing through exercise with an exercise mentor. Participants and mentors meet twice a week at one of the 8 FitSkills gyms and workout together for an hour. The program runs for 12 weeks and is part of a research trial designed to support young people with disabilities to become more active. If you’re are aged 13-30 and your cerebral palsy is classed as GMFCS I-III (mild-moderate), then you may be eligible to take part in the trial.

Our NDIS Journey

As a part of CPSN’s “NDIS team”, I love learning the nitty gritty ins and outs of the NDIS so I can help our members with their various questions. In fact, I’m so obsessed with getting into the details, you’ll quite often find me in indepth conversations over lunch! With all of this knowledge and with my experience in supporting others, you’d think transitioning my son onto the NDIS would be a piece of cake. The truth is, the day I got the call to organise a planning meeting for my son Lachie, the anxiety and worry struck! I’m great at advocating for others, but when it comes down to my gorgeous boy, my family and everything I know he so desperately needs, it became a different ball game.
