We know that support groups are a great resource to use and this is why at CPSN, we have launched Cuppa Chats. Cuppa Chats has been a success for our adults with cerebral palsy, so we wanted to start hosting sessions for our parents of children with cerebral palsy, to connect with each other.
Cerebral palsy is commonly known as a childhood condition. However, raising a child with cerebral palsy as a parent often means that you have different health, emotional, and social concerns to address than children who do not have the condition.
It is a great chance to stay connected online and meet new people going through similar parenting issues. Grab a cup of coffee, tea, soft drink, beer, or maybe a glass of wine… and start connecting in a meaningful way. You can gain a sense of community and get practical advice about day-to-day concerns and issues, such as assistive devices, practical ways to help your child, and tips with the Victorian education system.
Amy, our Telehealth nurse, is a mother of twin boys with cerebral palsy. She will be hosting the Cuppa Chat session for parents of children with cerebral palsy.
